so, i'm noticing some of you thought my intro dj set last friday night at Melbourne Music Week / kubik was strange to have ventured into pop music land. to explain i started with a medley of just melbourne music, from local melb indie bands, then some more mainstream music from melbourne from the last few decades (hence jason donovan/little river band etc). well it amused me, and i know a lot of others were getting into it, but sorry if i offended anyone when i ended with mariah carey. just wanted to have some fun til the other juggers and cutters came on who'd be playing more serious underground dance music etc for the rest of the night. wish people wouldn't get so serious about such things. we're jamming in a strange instrumental jam band (called FLRL) tonight at kubik, and it's free, so you can take it up with me there! ha :) vin. peace ♫♥♫♥

Melbourne Music Week starts this week. a lot going on in their program. I'm gonna chat about it this afternoon on Triple R (3RRR 102.7FM), including our live film score project + zombi screening/Q+A, both coming up at Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

as part of melbourne music week we've been asked to choose and discuss a film of influence. could have gone with hundreds but went with Dawn of the Dead ('78/goblin/zombi/romero/argento/pittsburghsplatter/etc) plus will do an intro + Q+A (will give goblin/italo/cannibal-genre/beach-volleyball thoughts etc). it's at ACMI (melbourne) on saturday 26th november and you can get tix for it on their site >
